Staff ​

The Challenge Enthusiasts staff is split between a few select roles that handle the necessary work to keep the server safe and ensure both community and site rules are followed.

A line between a list separates active members from former members in a role.

Dates represent the period in which the member had that role. If a member is listed in the "former" category, they may have either promoted, demoted or retired.

Administrators ​

Administrators handle the system. They oversee elevated issues from lower teams and assist in product development decision making. They may also contribute on any of the other roles as desired.

Webmaster ​

An unique, non-applicable position that handles the CE website server (hosting + security) and manages the CE GitHub organization. Essentially IT.

Moderators ​

Moderators handle the community aspect of the server and the website. They're tasked to keep conversations cordial, timeout users when necessary, handle interpersonal problems, vote on bans and invalidations, among other activities.

Site Developers ​

Site developers assist in the development and refinement of new site features (or on applications related to the site).

Event Managers ​

Event managers create and manage new and existing events.

Game Additions staff (GA) ​

GA members handle all matters related to adding games to the site, from approval to further editions.

Quality Assurance staff (QA) ​

QA members ensure games meet a quality standard (particularly fangames outside Steam), manage the curation of higher quality games, test new site features and handle edge cases in game additions and ruling, working alongside admins.

Verifications ​

Verifiers approve proof submissions done by people and contest cheating reports.

Contributors (News, information, writing, media and art) ​

Contributors help assist CE in various features, including but not limited to: creating new video loops for the site's intro page, assisting in writing, working on media/art, writing comprehensive information blocks for games that include guides and relevant information.

Potential Managers ​

Potential managers scout and catalogue games that don't currently exist on CE, which serves as a useful reference for users and other staff members, and may (potentially)be added as Tier 0 games in a future.

Community Objective Oversight Team (COOTers) ​

COOTers are a separate branch from the Game Additions team that focuses on all matters related to adding fun / worthwhile COs into many new and old games in the site. (A rudimentary version of the CO rework)

Global Moderators ​

Previously, moderators used to do all from Game Additions, contributors, verifications, etc. alongside moderating the server itself, as other roles did not exist at the time. For that reason the position is technically different from what moderators are now. This position was renamed as global moderator (which is currently vacant), and current moderators that also appear here had to re-apply for the new, identically named, position.

Community Representatives ​

Community representatives, colloquially called "reps", were divided by category. Their functionality was intended to be to shape recommendation threads of their category and act as ambassadors of it. This position was removed in March 2026 as preparation for a different system.

Extra: Token Administrator ​

Acted as a figure of speech to ensure a lone admin wouldn't have the capability of deleting the Discord server.
